SUSCIPE (Take and Receive)
Take Lord, and receive all my liberty,
my memory, my understanding, and my entire will,
all that I have and possess.
Thou hast given all to me.
To Thee, O Lord, I return it.
All is Thine, dispose of it wholly according to Thy will.
Give me Thy love and Thy grace, for this is sufficient for me.
We find this prayer suggested for daily morning offering and in particular for the Preparatory Prayers before each prayer period in the Spiritual Exercises
ANIMA CHRISTI (Soul of Christ)
Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, inebriate me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O good Jesus, hear me.
Within Thy wounds hide me.
Do not allow me to be separated from you.
From the malevolent enemy defend me.
In the hour of death, call me.
And bid me to come to you,
that with your saints I may praise you
forever and ever.
Amen.
We find this prayer in the beginning of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, we pray this at the beginning of self-directed or directed retreats of any length.
